"Bird Sanctuaries" takes you through the natural surroundings of Guldborg
The Bird Sanctuaries route begins at Guldborg Harbor and takes you out into the peaceful countryside around Guldborg. The route follows mostly quiet country roads, and several sections have bike paths, so you can focus on nature and the experiences around you.
Along the way, you’ll pass through both open countryside and wooded areas. Part of the route goes through Storskoven, where it’s worth paying extra attention to the directions. The stretch through the forest itself isn’t signposted in the same way as the rest of the route. At the entrances, you’ll find Naturlandet signs, so it’s a good idea to bring the route map or the Naturlandet app with you on your trip.
At 35 km, “Fuglenes fristeder” is perfect for a day trip, giving you plenty of time to get off your bike along the way and enjoy nature.
Discover Kallø Grå and Majbølle Nor at the Bird Sanctuaries
At the nature reserves, you’ll find birdwatching towers from which you can take in the view of the landscape and keep an eye out for the many birds that live in or visit the area. This makes these spots ideal for a break during your bike ride—especially if you have binoculars with you.
At Kallø Grå, you can even take your bike into the nature reserve. Here, however, you’ll need to dismount and walk your bike as you make your way through the area.
This makes it possible to combine a bike ride with a short hike and experience nature at an even slower pace.
